Mission Statement
'The reason for the Church in this parish is to enable everyone to know the peace and wholeness that comes through faith in Christ'
The Church
St Peter's Church is built of sandstone in the 'perpendicular style'.It was designed by Ignatius Bonomi and consecrated for worship in 1829.
Since then it has undergone many changes, the latest of which was in the 1980's when the chancel and vestries were remodelled because of structural problems. They were converted to meeting rooms on two floors known as The Zetland Rooms. These rooms, including a kitchen, are constantly in use for meetings and social occasions.
St Peter's Church has a number of Sunday and weekday services.
There are many lively groups and we also have a variety of social occasions throughout the year.
